Job Overview

Seylan Bank PLC is inviting applications for its Internship Programme – Leading to Permanent Employment. This is an excellent opportunity for young and motivated individuals to gain practical banking experience while building a rewarding career with one of Sri Lanka’s leading private commercial banks. Outstanding interns may be offered permanent employment upon successful completion of the programme.

The internship programme provides hands-on exposure to banking operations, professional mentorship, and opportunities to develop practical skills while working alongside experienced banking professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain practical experience across various banking operations
• Work closely with experienced banking professionals throughout the internship
• Assist with daily operational and administrative banking activities
• Develop professional and technical banking skills
• Build strong professional relationships within the banking industry
• Support assigned projects and departmental functions
• Perform assigned duties while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service

Qualifications & Experience

• Below 23 years of age
• Minimum of 5 Credit Passes at G.C.E. O/L, Edexcel O/L, or Cambridge O/L, including English and Mathematics
• Minimum of 3 Passes at G.C.E. A/L, Edexcel A/L, or Cambridge A/L (excluding General English)
• Part qualification in IBSL, AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIM, SLIM, or an equivalent professional qualification will be an added advantage
• Undergraduates pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institute are encouraged to apply
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for banking and willingness to learn
• Competency in MS Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
